OKAYYY i will put an entry here! those who went to twang's house after baccalaureate will agree that it was quite fun right :D i never saw the class so happily engaged in activity together before! really, i was secretly glad that the turnout was so good! like the whole house was filled with noise and laughter and madness. anyway i just wanted to say, after 2 long years and maybe some common hatred shared here and there, i think it is safe to say that no matter what, the class wouldn't be complete without every single member of the class, students and teachers alike (: i am sure after more interaction towards the end of j2 we've all grown to appreciate each other in some way or another! okay la i am very distracted by tv i shan't continue already. here's the link to photos pretty ugly glam unglam alike! some of your faces are inside so go take a look if you like (:

haoting's right. keep persevering! there's no way we're going to give up on all our efforts since primary school, or earlier, even. so much has been invested in us by teachers and parents over the years, we must DO IT yeah.

just wanted to share a quote.

he's some big-shot guy in construction. i think.
it kind of applies to our studies too. no matter how prelims were, it's more important to take away learning points from it. don't brood for too long! find out why the mistakes were made, and CORRECT them. we'll outdo everyone else.

hello all! i must thank the following people for helping out with the teachers' day presents!
jessie, justin, hilmi, gary and anyone else who helped with the words for the 2 lists.
charmaine low, gary, justin, hilmi and cherilyn for staying back to help with the cutting and pasting.
haoting, justin, boongoon, cherilyn and those who answered our plea to bring magazines.
jessie for getting the box from the photocopying shop aunties and the shades.
hilmi for shopping for the presents with me and lugging the stupid big box around, for doing the 10 reasons for thanking them, AND for laminating the pieces of paper. not to mention bringing the blutack which i ended up not using hahah.

I got a feeling this is going to be long but I promise to lighten it a bit k. For people who have absolutely no idea why you are reading this, it is because, it is because me (Jessie) have no idea how to contact you people and update you guys on the “exciting” events that have been going round in school (think: GP essay outlines, Bio tutorials, Chem Revision lectures, aren’t they extremely ENTERTAINING?)

Anyhows, unless your name is Jinghui, Darren, Gary, Justin or Hilmi or you think you have been pretty faithful in coming I suggest you guys to read everything because they either involve MONEY or your FUTURE. =)

Okay I shall stop ranting in light of Miss Neeta’s advice.

Viewing of Photos

Due to my absent mindedness, I left the photos in school (sorry) so I can’t scan it and upload it. I will pass it around tomorrow IF you guys are coming to school. If you guys aren’t, then I will bring them home tomorrow, scan them and upload them.

As a sidenote, there are only a couple of photos and they are all informal shots. We do not have the formal shots on hand.

Pricing

8R - $8
4R - $6

It is COMPULSORY for everyone to buy at the least so called official informal shot in 8R (to be addressed later)

Implication -> Even if you hate the class so much and thinks our faces brings you trauma, you will still have to buy one photo and it costs $8

Compulsory Photo

Whether you like it or not, it is compulsory to buy a 8R photo which the class will/has decicided. During contact time today, the 13 of us decided on one, when you guys come to school, I will show you guys and hopefully no on has any objections.

Ordering

Order procedures vary for different people, it depends on when you choose to come to school.

For people who came to school today and got your orders done
Just bring the money by tomorrow if you are coming or Friday if you are not coming tomorrow.

For people who are ONLY coming to school tomorrow
Please bring money with you because the deadline for the money is on Friday (day after tomorrow). A piece of advice though, I don’t think you guys will buy a lot so maybe $20 should be enough (for the photos only though. There are other stuff that you need to pay for which would be addressed later.)

For people ONLY coming to school on Friday
You can sms me your orders after you seen it tomorrow right here after I have uploaded it. Alternatively, you can make your orders on Friday itself, but we will need the cash on the spot.

For people coming on BOTH tomorrow and Friday
You can pay us tomorrow or Friday.

ALL ORDERS MUST BE ACCOMPANINED BY CASH

NO CASH (by Friday) NO PHOTO

In orders, unless you can get some friend to pay for you on Friday, if we don’t see the money then your extra orders will be void. (Apparently this doesn’t apply for the compulsory 8R photos)

BIOLOGY RELATED

Papers

Aiyun has copies of worksheets that are pretty important and a lot haven’t got them because of school absence. These include: Human Genome Project notes, Stem Cells tutorial etc etc. Please collect them from her as these are stuff that will be examined at prelims.

Char Low has a set of HCI papers (Bio) waiting to be collected too.

I have the Revision lecture (Bio) notes with me on Evolution. Please collect them too.

Syllabus

Anyhows. I checked out the rundown to the bio paper yesterday, it goes something like this:

Paper 1 : 40 MCQs

4 choose 1 (I think it includes ALL the chapters)

Paper 2: Structured and Essay (2 Hours)
ONLY on Core Syllabus (ie everything EXCEPT stem cells and CSI)
Structure questions: Variable number

Essay: 2 choose 1 (20 marks)

Paper 3: Structured and Essay
Should be only on CSI and stem cells BUT knowledge of the rest of the topics might be required
Structured Questions: Variable Number
Essay: COMPLUSORY (no choice)

Lectures
Formal lectures are over. We are having revision lectures. Today was on Evolution, tomorrow’s on Genetics of Bacteria and Viruses.
